Young Gardeners Program at Sotterley

The St. Mary’s County Garden Club partners with the St. Mary’s County Board of Education Environmental Education Program to provide a garden classroom at Sotterley for all second grade students. During the spring and fall of each school year, over 1200 students spend a day in the gardens learning about insect/plant relationships, (with a focus on the pollinators) visiting the herb garden and studying the trees on the surrounding mansion grounds.
