SMCHD Beautification – Phase II – March/April 2022
In March and April of 2022, St. Mary’s Count Garden Club, with support from the Plant America Community Project Grants Program, completed Phase II of the St. Mary’s County Health Department Garden Beautification Project. The scope of the project included planting and mulching the public walking areas to and from the Health Department and the front entrance area. SMCGC worked in partnership with Society Hill Garden Club, the SMCHD Staff, St. Mary’s County Master Gardener’s, and local businesses. Plantings included shrubs, perennials, and plants native to Maryland. The $1000.00 grant enabled our Club to complete Phase II of our Beautification Project to honor the work done each day at the Health Dept. and the contributions made by the Health Dept. staff to ensure the health and safety of our community. More information on the Plant America Program can be found on the National Garden Clubs website at https://gardenclub.org/plant-america-0.
