Freedom Garden

This garden, established 10 years ago, was planted in memory to the victims of 9-11 attacks.  Over the years harsh conditions of full sun and no irrigation has eliminated many of the plants. A plan to revitalize the garden was drawn up to incorporate more drought resistant plants. Garden Club Members along with St. Mary’s County Master Gardeners and students of Horticulture from the Dr. James A. Forest Technology Center assisted in the planting of the garden in the summer of 2013.
