On Friday, October 18th, a group of garden club member gathered at Saint Mary’s College of Maryland to plant 250 bulbs of Dutch Master daffodils in honor of Rae Thompson. This bed is located between Kent and Calvert Halls. A memorial plaque has been purchased by the club and will be installed in the spring. The date will be announced later, and club members are welcome to attend. Rae was a long time SMCGC member who was known, not only for her expertise on daffodils, but also for her long years of dedicated service to our garden Club. Her focus was the herb garden at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and was a certified judge at the District II Daffodil Show. She also served the club in many other capacities during her long club membership. We hope that this lovely daffodil garden will remind everyone of our wonderful club member, Rae Thompson.
